Compress a video for email

Make a video small enough to attach to an email. The page aims just under the limit and shows how it will look before it starts, all on your own device.

Email limits

Gmail takes up to 25 MB of attachments per email and turns anything bigger into a Google Drive link (checked in September 2026). The Email button aims at 24 MB to leave a little room. Outlook, iCloud and many work mail servers have limits of their own, sometimes lower, so if yours states one, type it in as a custom size.

Email adds its own encoding to attachments, and some services count that toward the limit. If a 24 MB video is refused, try 18 MB.

FAQ

Is my video uploaded?

No. It is read, converted and saved inside your browser, using your device's own video encoder. Nothing about it, not even its name, is sent anywhere.

Will the person I send it to be able to play it?

Yes, on practically any device: when the page makes a video smaller it writes H.264 in an MP4, the most widely supported combination.

The video is too long to fit. What now?

Trim it to the part that matters with the handles under the player, or share it as a link from a cloud drive. The page tells you before starting when a video cannot fit and still be watchable.
