Using the app#

Hot Take is licensed to you, not sold. You may use it on the Apple devices you control, in line with the App Store Terms of Service.

The captions the app writes are yours to use. You are responsible for what you do with them.

AI provider account & charges#

Hot Take is free and has no in-app purchase or subscription. You supply a Gemini or OpenRouter API key, and any limits or charges for AI requests belong to your account with that provider. Provider prices, free tiers, rate limits, spending controls, and terms can change independently of Hot Take.

You are responsible for securing the key, monitoring its usage, choosing whether to enable billing, and setting any spending limits the provider offers. Remove or revoke a key promptly if you believe it has been exposed.

Acceptable use#

Don’t use Hot Take to harass a real person, to caption images you have no right to use, or to generate content that is unlawful. Follow the acceptable-use rules and rate limits of the AI provider you choose.

Liability#

The app is provided as-is. Captions are generated by an AI model and may be wrong, odd, or unfunny; they are suggestions, not statements of fact, and you should read them before you post them.

AI provider availability, output, pricing, and account access are outside our control. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for Hot Take in the twelve months before the claim.
