Why websites give you WEBP
WEBP is an image format from Google that makes pictures smaller than JPEG at a similar quality, so many websites serve it. Saving an image from a page often gives you the WEBP the site sent rather than the JPG or PNG it started as. Current browsers and recent versions of macOS open it, but plenty of older software, printing services and upload forms still accept only JPG or PNG. What changes in the JPG
JPEG has no transparency, so transparent areas, common in logos and stickers, come out white. To keep them, use the WEBP to PNG converter instead. An animated WEBP converts as its first frame.
The JPG is usually larger than the WEBP, because JPEG compresses less efficiently. Lowering the quality slider trades size for detail.

Are my images uploaded?
No. The page converts them inside your browser. Nothing about the images, not even their names, is sent anywhere.
Why is the JPG bigger than the WEBP?
WEBP packs the same picture into fewer bytes than JPEG can. A JPG at a similar quality needs more space; a lower quality setting brings the size down.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes. Choose or drop as many as you like and each gets its own download link. Download all saves every one; your browser may ask once whether the page can download several files. Very large batches are limited by your device's memory.
Does it work on a phone?
